Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo pledged on Oct. 16 to begin the long-delayed construction of the Ebonesii–Ukpor road, a key project held back by insecurity in the area.
During his visit to Ihiala Local Government Area, the governor assured residents that the finished road will boost economic growth, make transportation better, and improve life in nearby communities.
Calling his visit a celebration, Governor Soludo expressed happiness over the successful clearing of Ihiala from criminal hold, saying peace and stability have returned after years of trouble.
He remembered that Ihiala was once a no-go zone during his campaign, with armed groups active in eight communities, including Ihiala, Uli, and Ebonesii, until government action brought calm.
The governor thanked the armed forces, security agencies, and community leaders for restoring peace. He repeated his call for amnesty for repentant criminals through the “One Youth, Two Skills” reintegration programme.
